As the owner of a business, it is highly probable that either you or perhaps your staff travel internationally or domestically or both. Flights can be expensive, especially if it you take off regularly. But there is a way to get more out of your credit card and potentially save on the cost of flights and even get some for free!
Take off with a system that works
Nowadays there are a range of personal and business credit cards that offer rewards programs that you can benefit from. For businesses, one main reward system that you can take advantage of is frequent flyers or rewards programs where points can be used towards flights, allowing you to fly more often and save at the same time. And it would seem that many businesses have caught on.
One example is Qantas which offers a Frequent Flyer program that is linked to a range of credit cards through a number of providers including Commonwealth Bank, NAB, Westpac, ANZ and American Express. Qantas reported a record profit of $377 million (before tax) for the year ending June 30, 2010, and in an official media release, its Chief Executive Alan Joyce, says, "Qantas Frequent Flyer (Underlying EBIT of $328 million) delivered a record result and now has over 7 million members."
The statement also stated that, "Qantas, Jetstar, Freight and Qantas Frequent Flyer businesses have all delivered double digit percentage growth in underlying earnings compared to the prior year, with both Jetstar and Frequent Flyer delivering record results."
If you use your business credit card regularly why not use it to your advantage by having a rewards system that will save you money in the long-term. The way it works it that the more times you use it, the more you get out of it. So for example just by purchasing your flights using your credit card, you will be able to rack up the points and fly away sooner.
If your current business credit card is not working for you, or if you require a new credit card that can reward you more, compare business credit cards online to find one that not only offers a lower interest rate but is linked to a reward system that can help you fly more often for less, or hopefully for free.
