Credit Card Surcharges

Credit card surcharges are the additional fees a customer is charged by some businesses when paying for goods and services by credit card. These fees are put in place by the merchant to cover the costs they incur when processing credit card transactions. Not all credit cards incur surcharges, however the ones that do are usually set at a flat fee or as a percentage of the transaction.

Businesses that do have a credit card surcharge will usually inform you of how much it will be at the point of sale. However, if you are not sure ask before you make the purchase.
