Credit Cards Rewards Programs

There is such a variety of credit cards rewards programs currently available that it sometimes makes it hard to decide which card will benefit you more.

From free flights to points for shopping, the range of options will depend on the way you use your credit card and what you will get the most out of.

One example of a card that offers more rewards and good value is the Virgin Money Virgin Flyer Credit Card. According to RateCity???s research, out of 13 other cards from the major four banks (ANZ, Commonwealth Bank, NAB and Westpac) and the Jetstar MasterCard, the Virgin Money card was the best value based on a return flight from Sydney to Melbourne.

The Virgin Money card offers up to four free one-way flights every year, when you purchase a seat on Virgin Blue using your card you get the second one free.

According to RateCity, the Virgin Flyer card had the highest annual fee at $99 however, it offers around $400 worth of value for flights (after the annual fee is subtracted). This is based on an average spend of $15,000 per year.

The Virgin Flyer card is great if you fly interstate regularly, however, be aware that you need to purchase Virgin Blue flights on your card in order to reap the rewards, so if you don???t fly often this card may not suit you.

If you don???t like flying, there are a range of other credit card rewards programs available to choose from. Perhaps find one where you can redeem your points for vouchers. Shop around and compare credit cards online to see what credit cards rewards programs are available so you can be rewarded.

Just remember to look for one that offers the most points for every dollar you spend, that way you get more out of your money.

Also be aware that most credit cards offering rewards programs may charge a higher interest rate compared to other cards, so look for one with a lower interest rate and pay it off each month to keep your costs down.
