Diners Club has been the pioneer behind the "charge it" phrase and the introduction of the world’s first Charge Card. Since The Cards inception in 1950 the Diners Club has remained the leader in multi-use charge cards around the world. Diners Club Australia was established in 1956 as a separate franchise to the international brand. In 1999 Diners Club Australia was acquired by Citigroup, who have continued to excel in the provision of charge card services and facilities to both corporate and personal customers.
