Benchmark investment information - how performance is measured

To ensure comparability for consumers, the RateCity superannuation comparison is based on the asset allocation of each of the MySuper/Pension products, irrespective of the name of the investment option. This methodology allows consumers to compare products on a like for like basis and removes any ambiguities associated with the name of the investment option. For example, an investment option may be classified as growth, however its asset allocation may in fact mean it should be classified as high growth. By using the asset allocation as the dominant identifier, we believe this provides the most robust framework for consumers to compare funds and recognise that this is a consistent approach to that of SuperRatings methodology.

High Growth 91-100%
Growth 77-90%
Balanced 60-76%
Conservative Balanced 41-59%
Capital Stable 20-40%

What the researchers say

The Asgard Infinity eWRAP Pension is a fully customisable product offering that can be easily scaled up or down to meet the individual needs of members and their advisers.

The Core package offers a choice of 5 Actively Managed Diversified options and 6 externally managed Single Sector Index options. The Adv Balanced Multi Blend Fund option has underperformed the SuperRatings Index over the shorter term, while the returns of the underlying Advance Multi-blend funds have been mixed. Members can also access Term Deposits at no additional cost, and can gain access to ASX Listed Securities for an additional fee of $300 plus 0.10% p.a.

Fees for the basic investment menu offered under the Core package are competitive across all account balances assessed. Ongoing costs are low, although members must have an adviser to join.

The Asgard Infinity eWRAP Pension provides good pension flexibility. A selection of 3 pension payment frequencies is available with payments made directly to the member's nominated bank account on a date specified by the fund. Members can nominate a drawdown strategy or have their pension payments drawn proportionately across investments.

Members and their advisers can gain access to their account via Asgard's Investor Online facility, which includes a wide range of educational materials, calculators and reporting capabilities.
