Benchmark investment information - how performance is measured
To ensure comparability for consumers, the RateCity superannuation comparison is based on the asset allocation of each of the MySuper/Pension products, irrespective of the name of the investment option. This methodology allows consumers to compare products on a like for like basis and removes any ambiguities associated with the name of the investment option. For example, an investment option may be classified as growth, however its asset allocation may in fact mean it should be classified as high growth. By using the asset allocation as the dominant identifier, we believe this provides the most robust framework for consumers to compare funds and recognise that this is a consistent approach to that of SuperRatings methodology.

Optimum Professional Allocated Pension is division of the Suncorp Master Trust offered by Suncorp, one of Australia's largest bank and general insurance groups, with over $96 billion in assets. This product has been closed to new members since 2009, however, existing members can still transact on their account.
The Fund offers a broad range of investments with over 50 Managed Investment options to choose from. The Ibbotson Growth Trust investment option has underperformed the SuperRatings Index over the long term.
Fees are higher than the industry average across all account balances assessed; however fee tiering does apply for account balances over $100,000. Members can make withdrawals and switch between investment options at no cost.
Optimum Professional offers reasonable flexibility, including 4 pension payment frequencies and an ability to nominate which options pension payments are to be drawn from. Beneficiary options are comprehensive, including binding and non-binding death benefit nominations and reversionary pension nominations, including child pensions.
