Annualised figures are the average per year returns of the rated option based on the cumulative returns for the past 5 years to 30/06/2015, past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance. Performance and fee data is based on the option which is rated by SuperRatings and stated on each product's landing page.

Benchmark investment information - how performance is measured

To ensure comparability for consumers, the RateCity superannuation comparison is based on the asset allocation of each of the MySuper/Pension products, irrespective of the name of the investment option. This methodology allows consumers to compare products on a like for like basis and removes any ambiguities associated with the name of the investment option. For example, an investment option may be classified as growth, however its asset allocation may in fact mean it should be classified as high growth. By using the asset allocation as the dominant identifier, we believe this provides the most robust framework for consumers to compare funds and recognise that this is a consistent approach to that of SuperRatings methodology.

What the researchers say

AMP SignatureSuper was established in 2003 for corporate superannuation plans requiring significant flexibility and tailored features. The Personal division is designed for former members of the Corporate plan and their families. AMP SignatureSuper received an Infinity Recognised Award in 2015 for the 7th consecutive year, in recognition of excellence in environmental and social principals.

Members have access to an extensive investment menu featuring 80 Diversified, Single-Sector and Single Manager options. Access to Term Deposits is also provided. Future Directions Balanced option has outperformed the SuperRatings Index over the long term.

Fees for this product are higher than the industry average across all account balances assessed. As member fees and asset administration fees can be tailored to individual employer plans, these ratings are indicative only.

AMP SignatureSuper Personal allows members to continue their insurance cover after leaving their employer plan. Members can apply for up to $1 million of Death only, or Death & TPD cover. Income Protection is offered over a benefit period of 2 years or up to age 65, with a choice of 30, 60, 90 or 180 day waiting periods.

AMP's new look website contains a variety of financial simulators and retirement calculators for members. Members can also manage their superannuation on desktops, tablets and their mobile phones via MyPortfolio.
