Annualised figures are the average per year returns of the rated option based on the cumulative returns for the past 5 years to 30/06/2015, past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance. Performance and fee data is based on the option which is rated by SuperRatings and stated on each product's landing page.

Benchmark investment information - how performance is measured

To ensure comparability for consumers, the RateCity superannuation comparison is based on the asset allocation of each of the MySuper/Pension products, irrespective of the name of the investment option. This methodology allows consumers to compare products on a like for like basis and removes any ambiguities associated with the name of the investment option. For example, an investment option may be classified as growth, however its asset allocation may in fact mean it should be classified as high growth. By using the asset allocation as the dominant identifier, we believe this provides the most robust framework for consumers to compare funds and recognise that this is a consistent approach to that of SuperRatings methodology.

Conservative Balanced 41-59%

What the researchers say

netwealth Super Wrap was established in 2002 and is designed for investors and employers who want more choice and flexibility in their superannuation account. Effective 1 July 2014 netwealth is not accepting new members in the Super Wrap Personal Super.

An extensive investment menu is offered to members, comprising of 11 core options, access to over 277 single manager options across a variety of asset classes and risk profiles, direct equities and term deposits. Performance of the Active Growth option has been above the SuperRatings Index in the shorter term, and it should be noted that all earnings are reported prior to the deduction of tax.

The fee structure of netwealth is quite complex and lies above the industry average across medium and large account balances. Fee tiering applies based on the member's account balance and employer plan size, and no fees are charged for establishing an account or investment switches.

A full suite of insurance is provided to members with strong flexibility. Automatic cover is available to employer sponsored members based on the employer plan size. IP insurance covers up to 85% of salary with a choice of 3 waiting periods and 2 benefit payment periods.

Members can also access extensive performance reporting online, as well as educational resources, including ASX Live Data.
