ANZ Breakfree Package

ANZ’s Breakfree package offers two different types of home loans – fixed rate or variable rate – with a range of features included in each one:

ANZ Breakfree home loan package - fixed

Fixed ANZ home loan packages come with the option of a 100 per cent offset account. They also include the option to ‘spilt’ your loan which means you can keep part of your loan on a fixed rate, and keep the remainder on a variable rate.

ANZ Breakfree fixed home loan packages do not allow you to make regular additional repayments or lump sum repayments which means you can’t put extra money towards your loan during the fixed term period.

However, while these fixed rate products are less flexible than their variable counterparts, they do provide customers with the comfort of knowing exactly what interest rate they’ll be charged each month.

These packages offer a range of fixed terms ranging from one to 10 years. They can also provide a construction facility for anyone building a new home or doing major renovations.

ANZ Breakfree home loan package – variable

ANZ’s variable home loan packages have a wider range of features available including the ability to make additional and lump sum repayments. They also come with a 100 per cent offset account, a redraw facility and a construction facility if you want these features.

These extra components make this type of loan more flexible however it is subject to rate changes over the life of the loan.

Who is the ANZ Breakfree Package good for?

An ANZ Breakfree package is good for someone who wants the convenience of keeping all their financial products with one of the biggest lenders in the market providing benefits such as 24-hour customer support and access to ANZ’s financial planning services.

The package includes a discount on your ANZ home loan rate and a number of fee waivers however it does include a sizeable annual fee.

Review - What RateCity says

The key advantage of combining all of your products into one package is that you’ll get access to special discounts and rates, much like you do when you bundle your telecommunications with the one provider. The ANZ Breakfree package also offers discounts and fee waivers on optional insurance and ANZ financial planning services. The main downside of this product is the relatively high annual fee, which might outweigh some of the discounts. If you are interested in taking up an ANZ Breakfree package for the potential savings it’s worth checking whether the discounts you receive outweigh this yearly charge.
