Summary

Hostplus Pension Plan was established in 2009 to provide for the retirement needs of members employed within the hospitality, tourism and leisure industries. The fund is a public offer fund and allows members from all industries to apply for membership, with a minimum initial investment of $10,000 required to commence membership. Hostplus was nominated as a finalist for the 2021 Career Fund of the Year, the 2021 Pension of the Year and the 2021 Net Benefit awards. Hostplus offers an investment menu of 6 Diversified options and 8 Single Sector options, as well as a ChoicePlus investment option providing access to Direct Shares listed on the S&P/ASX 300, a range of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), Listed Investment Companies (LICs) and Term Deposits. The Balanced option underperformed the relevant SuperRatings Index over the year to 30 June 2020; however, outperformed over other time periods assessed.Fees are lower than the industry average across medium and large account balances assessed. The fund does not charge a switching fee or a buy-sell spread.Hostplus Pension Plan offers excellent pension flexibility with members able to select from fortnightly through to annual payment frequencies. Members with more than one investment option can nominate the proportion of, or order in which, payments are to be drawn from each option. Members can also select from reversionary pension, binding death nomination and non-binding lump sum death benefits.Hostplus offers added benefits to members including discounted banking, health insurance, travel and accommodation. Member Online further allows members to view and update account details and perform transactions.
