A minimum initial investment of $10,000 is required to start an Allocated Pension. The fund was nominated as a finalist for the 2021 Momentum award and is also Infinity Recognised, which is a result of its strong commitment to environmental and social principles.The fund offers a wide range of investment options, including 'Ready-Made' and 'Select-Your-Own' investment options, as well as a Mercer Direct investment option, providing access to Direct Shares listed on the S&P/ASX 300, a range of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and Term Deposits. The Mercer Growth option underperformed the SuperRatings Index over the 5- and 7-year periods to 30 June 2020, however, outperformed over other time periods assessed.Fees are higher than the industry average across medium and large account balances assessed, with the administration fee waived on account balances over $350K. Members can switch investment options at no cost.Mercer provides good flexibility, with members having the ability to receive pension payments monthly, quarterly or annually. Members with more than one investment option can nominate the proportion of, or order in which, payments are to be drawn from each option. Beneficiary options include both binding and non-binding nominations, as well as reversionary pensions.Members have access to Mercer financial advisers who can tailor super and retirement solutions to suit their needs.
