Summary

Established in 1987 for Tasmanian corporate employees, Tasplan Super has been a public offer industry fund since 2007. With the aim to create a single Tasmanian superannuation fund, Tasplan merged with Quadrant Super in November 2015 and the RBF Accumulation Scheme in April 2017. Tasplan Pension was introduced in 2007 and was nominated as a finalist of the 2020 Pension of the Year Award.Tasplan Control Pension offers a range of investment options for members to choose from, including 5 Diversified and 5 Single Sector investment strategies. The Balanced option outperformed the SuperRatings Index over each time period assessed to 30 June 2019. Fees are lower than the industry average across all assessed account balances, with the percentage-based administration fee capped at $1,200 p.a. Members are able to switch investment options at no cost. A good level of pension flexibility is provided, with a choice of multiple payment frequencies, ranging from fortnightly to annually. Members with more than one investment option can nominate the proportion of payments to be drawn from each option or have their payments made proportionately across their account balance. Beneficiary options are comprehensive, including both binding and non-binding nominations, as well as reversionary pensions.Additional benefits available include access to advice services, information sessions, high quality educational material, interactive tools and calculators, as well as the ability to view account details and perform transactions via Tasplan Online.
