Established in October 2016 by Tidswell Master Superannuation Plan, Australian Expatriate Superannuation Fund (AESF) is a non-public offer retail superannuation product, which is designed to help individuals grow super savings through their working life towards retirement, while accepting foreign pension transfers and promoting Australian Superannuation to expatriates. A minimum initial investment of $20,000 is required to commence an account-based pension and a Transition to Retirement Pension is also available.AESF offers a range of 13 Diversified and 23 Single Sector externally managed investment options, which includes a selection of Managed Funds and Exchange Traded Products, as well as three Cash Funds invested in the AUD, GBP or USD Private Access Accounts. However, performance figures to 30 June 2019 are yet to be made available.Fees associated with this product are lower than the industry average across all assessed account balances. An administration fee of up to 1% pa is charged based on account balances and investment options chosen. Other fees, such as foreign transfer establishment fees, QROPS reporting fees, foreign exchange costs and adviser fees, may also apply.A reasonable level of pension flexibility is provided, including a choice of four payment frequencies ranging from monthly to annually. Members are eligible to nominate a specific pension drawdown order or pro-rata across investments. Beneficiary options includes non-binding nominations, reversionary pensions and non-lapsing binding nominations. The fund's website is easy to navigate, which contains a member log-in function and general information about the product offering.
