TWUSUPER was established in 1984 to provide for the retirement needs of members employed within the transport and logistic industries. The fund is a public offer fund and allows members from all industries to apply for membership. TWUSUPER TransPension was established in 1998, with a minimum initial investment of $10,000 required to commence membership.TWUSUPER offers members three investment options: Balanced, Equity Plus and Cash Plus. The Balanced option outperformed the relevant SuperRatings Index over the 10-year period to 30 June 2020; however, underperformed over the shorter term.Fees are lower than the industry average across all account balances assessed and the Direct Expense Recovery fee of 0.20% is capped at $750 per annum. The fund does not charge a buy-sell spread or a switching fee. TWUSUPER TransPension offers reasonable pension flexibility, with members able to select from fortnightly through to yearly payment frequencies. Members with more than one investment option can nominate the proportion of payments to be drawn from each option. Members can also select from binding and non-binding death nomination, as well as reversionary pensions.Members receive access to financial advice, as well as a range of educational material and industry related news. The fund offers free retirement seminars, which are held around Australia, to ensure members are well informed.
