RATECITY SCHOLARSHIP PRIZE
TERMS AND CONDITIONS dated 22 November 2017
THE SCHOLARSHIP PRIZE:
By entering the RateCity Scholarship Prize (Scholarship prize), you acknowledge that you have read, understand and fully agree with these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to any of the Terms and Conditions you may withdraw your Entry prior to the Prize Draw by providing such intention in writing to the attention of the Privacy Officer, RateCity Pty Ltd at Level 3, 52 Alfred Street, Milsons Point 2061.
The Promoter of the Scholarship prize is RateCity Pty Ltd (ABN 12 122 743 542) of Level 3, 52 Alfred Street, Milsons Point 2061 (RateCity).
The Scholarship prize entry commences on 22 November 2017 at 12:01 a.m. (AEST) and concludes on 28 April 2018 at 11:59 p.m. (AEST) (Entry Period).
Entry is open to current undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in a business course at an Australian university. RateCity’s employees, directors and their immediate families are ineligible to enter this Scholarship prize.
RateCity reserves the right to verify the validity of Entries and to disqualify:
(1) any Entry which in the opinion of RateCity, includes lewd, offensive, vulgar, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise considered offensive or illegal;
(2) any Entrant who in the opinion of RateCity, engaged in conduct in entering the Scholarship prize which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Scholarship prize and/or RateCity; or
(3) any Entry that is not in accordance with any of these Terms & Conditions.
Should an Entrant’s contact details change during the Promotional Period, it is the Entrant's responsibility to notify RateCity. A request to access or modify any information provided in an Entry should be directed to RateCity.
HOW TO ENTER:
To enter the Scholarship prize, each “Entrant” must:
(1) Write a 500-word essay on the question: “Should financial literacy be taught in schools? Why or why not?”;
(2) include their full name, postal address, email address and phone number;
(3) include name of university and degree
(4) email the entry to email@example.com
An individual is limited to one (1) Entry into the Scholarship prize.
SELECTION OF WINNER:
The winner of the Scholarship prize will be selected based on the best written entry by a panel of judges.
The judging will take place at RateCity’s office at Level 3, 52 Alfred Street, Milsons Point NSW 2061 at 4.00 p.m. (AEST) on 11 May 2018.
The winner will be notified in writing and on RateCity’s website within ten (10) business days of the judging.
RateCity reserves the right to request the Winner to provide proof of identity, proof of residency at their nominated prize delivery address, proof of academic transcript and/or proof of Entry to claim the prize. If the Winner cannot provide suitable proof, the Winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.
RateCity’s decision is final and RateCity will not enter into any correspondence regarding the Scholarship prize result.
The winner will receive a prize of $3,000. RateCity expressly disclaims any responsibility or liability for injury or loss to any person or property relating to the prize awarded. RateCity makes no representation or warranties concerning the prize awarded.
USE OF WINNER’S IMAGE/ENTRY:
The Winner hereby permits RateCity, its employees, agents or contractors to film, photograph, video/audio record the Winner and use such video, image and/or voice for marketing, promotion or advertising purposes in connection with RateCity (at its discretion), in any media and medium whatsoever throughout the World (Use Rights) and the Winner will not be entitled to and will not claim any fees or royalties for such Use Rights.
The Winner provides its express Moral Rights consent with respect to any Use Rights upon its Entry into this Scholarship prize. The Winner will not bring a claim in respect of any of its Moral Rights in respect of the Use Rights exercised by RateCity.
It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the Winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by RateCity in its absolute discretion.
By entering the Scholarship prize, each Entrant consents to RateCity’s use of their name and contributed content and photographs for all legitimate business purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
RateCity is not responsible for any technical failure during the Entry Period including any technical malfunction of any computer, on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or review to be received on account of traffic congestion on the internet, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an Entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from downloading any material related to the Scholarship prize, all of which may affect a person’s ability to participate in the Scholarship prize.
Your personal information collected by RateCity for this Scholarship prize (“Personal Information”) is collected and used to: (a) conduct the Scholarship prize; (b) process your entry into the Scholarship prize; (c) award you any Prize; (d) identify you as a Scholarship prize Winner; and (e) generally provide you with information on RateCity’s products, services, events or Scholarship prizes.
RateCity may disclose your Personal Information to external service providers to which RateCity has contracted out functions such as printers, mailing houses, IT companies and media and advertising companies, but only for the purpose set out above. Your Personal Information may be transferred or stored outside the country where the information was collected for the purposes stated above.
RateCity may contact you through e-mail, SMS, telephone or post for the purpose(s) set out above.
You have the right to access or correct any Personal Information we hold about you (subject to any applicable legal exceptions) and can do this via writing to the attention of the Privacy Officer, RateCity Pty Ltd at Level 3, 52 Alfred Street, Milsons Point 2061.
If you do not provide RateCity with the Personal Information requested, or if you provide RateCity with inaccurate Personal Information, RateCity will not be able to process your Entry into the Scholarship prize.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
By participating in the Scholarship prize, including accepting a prize, Entrants agree to release, hold harmless and agree not to institute any claim against RateCity, and its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising from or in connection with, either directly or indirectly, the awarding, acceptance, receipt, possession, use and/or misuse of any prize awarded herein.
Upon delivery of a prize to a winner, RateCity will be deemed to have awarded the prize to such winner with winner assuming full responsibility for the prize. Released Parties are not responsible for any technical, hardware, software, telephone or other communications malfunctions, errors or failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, website, internet, or ISP availability, unauthorized human intervention, traffic congestion, incomplete or inaccurate capture of entry information (regardless of cause) or failed, incomplete garbled, jumbled or delayed computer transmissions which may limit one’s ability to enter the Scholarship prize, including any injury or damage to your or any other person’s computer relating or resulting from participating in the Scholarship prize or downloading any materials in these Scholarship prize. Under no circumstances will Entrants be permitted to obtain awards for any action or claim related to this Scholarship prize, and Entrants hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, or any other damages, including attorneys’ fees, in relation thereto and Entrants further waive all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
