WA Super is a Perth based industry fund, initially set up for employees of Local Governments throughout WA, but has since become a Public Offer super fund.The fund's MySuper offering comprises a single diversified investment option, My WA Super. The My WA Super option underperformed the SuperRatings Index over the 5 years to 30 June 2017. Choice members have access to both Diversified and Single Sector options.Fees are lower than the industry average across all account balances assessed. Members are entitled to 2 free switches each financial year, while an exit fee applies for deductions made from the account. A full suite of insurance cover is available, with eligible members automatically provided with Basic Cover for Death, TPD and Income Protection (IP) upon joining the fund. Members have the option of applying for unlimited Death cover and Total & Permanent Disablement (TPD) cover up to $3 million, as well as, Income Protection (IP) up to 85% of insured salary, with benefits periods of 2 years, 5 years or to age 65 and six waiting periods to choose from.A range of member services are available, including online access and transaction functionalities, online calculators, as well as fact sheets and newsletters. The fund also provides access to financial planning services and a range of banking products from ME.
