Annualised figures are the average per year returns of the rated option based on the cumulative returns for the past 5 years to 30/06/2015, past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance. Performance and fee data is based on the option which is rated by SuperRatings and stated on each product's landing page.
Benchmark investment information - how performance is measured
To ensure comparability for consumers, the RateCity superannuation comparison is based on the asset allocation of each of the MySuper/Pension products, irrespective of the name of the investment option. This methodology allows consumers to compare products on a like for like basis and removes any ambiguities associated with the name of the investment option. For example, an investment option may be classified as growth, however its asset allocation may in fact mean it should be classified as high growth. By using the asset allocation as the dominant identifier, we believe this provides the most robust framework for consumers to compare funds and recognise that this is a consistent approach to that of SuperRatings methodology.

What the researchers say
AMP CustomSuper was established in 1993 to cater for large employer groups. It has been closed to new employer plans. AMP CustomSuper - MySuper was introduced in January 2014.
AMP CustomSuper - MySuper uses a lifecycle investment approach, which is designed to reduce the level of growth assets members are exposed to as they approach retirement. The MySuper 1960s option under-performed the Superratings Index in 2015. Long term returns are currently not available. Choice members have access to over 70 Single Manager and Multi-Manager investment options. Access to Lifestage strategies and Term Deposits is also provided.
Fees associated with this product are rated as average across all account balances assessed. However, discounted MySuper Administration Fees may be negotiated by an employer plan. No switching fees are charged, although changing investment options may incur transaction costs. An exit fee applies for partial and full withdrawals.
AMP CustomSuper provides members with access to Death only, Death & TPD and Income Protection (IP) cover. Members can apply for up to $3 million of Death & TPD cover, or increase their existing cover upon the occurrence of certain life events without medical evidence. IP is available with 2 year and to age 65 benefit periods, with a choice of 30, 60, 90 and 180 day waiting periods. As premiums are tailored to individual employer plans, our assessments are indicative only.
AMP's new look website provides access to a variety of financial simulators and retirement calculators. Members can also manage their superannuation on desktops, tablets and their mobile phones via My Portfolio.
