Annualised figures are the average per year returns of the rated option based on the cumulative returns for the past 5 years to 30/06/2016, past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance. Performance and fee data is based on the option which is rated by SuperRatings and stated on each product's landing page.
Benchmark investment information - how performance is measured
To ensure comparability for consumers, the RateCity superannuation comparison is based on the asset allocation of each of the MySuper/Pension products, irrespective of the name of the investment option. This methodology allows consumers to compare products on a like for like basis and removes any ambiguities associated with the name of the investment option. For example, an investment option may be classified as growth, however its asset allocation may in fact mean it should be classified as high growth. By using the asset allocation as the dominant identifier, we believe this provides the most robust framework for consumers to compare funds and recognise that this is a consistent approach to that of SuperRatings methodology.

What the researchers say
AMP Flexible Lifetime MySuper was established in January 2014 and serves as the default option for AMP Flexible Lifetime members. As one of the leading funds in responsible investment, AMP Flexible Lifetime has received a 2017 Infinity Recognised status for the 8th consecutive year.
AMP Flexible Lifetime MySuper uses a life-cycle investment approach, which reduces the level of growth assets a member is exposed to as they approach retirement. Choice members have access to over 60 Diversified, Single-Sector and Single Manager options, as well as Term Deposits. The MySuper 1960s option has under-performed the SuperRatings Index over the past two years. Long-term returns are currently not available.
Fees for this product are higher than the industry average across medium and large account balances assessed, while MySuper members receive a reduced Member fee compared to Choice members. No switching fees are charged, although changing investment options may incur transactional costs. Exit fees are payable for full and partial withdrawals.
AMP Flexible Lifetime MySuper provides members with Death only, Death & TPD and Income Protection (IP) insurance. Members can apply for unlimited Death only cover and up to $5 million of Death & TPD insurance. IP is available over a 2 year or to age 65 benefit period, with a choice of a variety of waiting periods ranging from 30 to 720 days. As premiums can be tailored to individuals, our ratings are indicative only.
AMP's website contains a variety of financial simulators and retirement calculators, as well as a Q& info centre, which provides members with a wealth of educational materials, tools and online learning. Furthermore, the fund's interactive digital advice tool 'AMP Goals 360' helps members to plan and keep on track of their retirement goals.
