Benchmark investment information - how performance is measured
To ensure comparability for consumers, the RateCity superannuation comparison is based on the asset allocation of each of the MySuper/Pension products, irrespective of the name of the investment option. This methodology allows consumers to compare products on a like for like basis and removes any ambiguities associated with the name of the investment option. For example, an investment option may be classified as growth, however its asset allocation may in fact mean it should be classified as high growth. By using the asset allocation as the dominant identifier, we believe this provides the most robust framework for consumers to compare funds and recognise that this is a consistent approach to that of SuperRatings methodology.

NGS Super is the national superannuation fund dedicated to education and community-focused organisations. Members from outside these industry groups can join the Personal Plan and receive the same benefits. The fund offers excellent value for members, as evidenced by NGS Super securing the SuperRatings Platinum rating for 2016, and is also Infinity Recognised for demonstrating excellent environmental and social principles.
The fund is MySuper authorised with the Diversified option being the default MySuper offering for members who do not choose an investment option. Choice members can also access seven Multi Sector, five Asset Specific options, as well as direct Term Deposits, ASX300 listed shares and ETFs. The default Diversified MySuper option underperformed the relevant SuperRatings Index in 2015 and over the long term.
Fees associated with NGS Super are competitive for members across all account balances assessed, with the asset administration fees capped at $500. The fund also provides members with one free investment switch per year.
The NGS Super's insurance offerings include reasonable automatic acceptance levels, short and long term IP and a flexible selection of death benefit choices including binding, reversionary, child pension and anti-detriment payments. Financial Planning services are also available.
