There are a range of car insurance providers throughout Australia that provide car insurance to the general public. Some car insurance providers are based online only so they are able to offer lower premiums, while some have higher overheads such as wages for branch staff members which is why they may charge higher premiums.
Most car insurance providers are underwritten by different companies which may also affect the price of premiums being quoted. There are also a range of car insurance providers that specialise in providing car insurance for particular niche markets such as vintage and rare cars.
