What are Next Business Energy rates?

To check what plans and prices are offered by Next Business Energy in your specific location, fill their form. You will need to provide: 

  • Your contact details and postcode.
  • Whether you have solar panels.
  • The estimated yearly cost of energy usage, with the assumption that a small or medium business will pay less than $30,000 a year and a large business will pay over $30,000.
  • Choose the tariff types you wish to review, whether it’s the single-rate or time-of-use tariff options.

There are no Next Business Energy residential plans available, so you should only fill in the details if you’re looking for energy for your business. Once you enter this information, you can view the Next Business Energy rates and the estimated annual energy cost for your business. 

What are the Next Business Energy plans available?

While some of the plans offered by Next Business Energy are at the regulated standing offer or reference price defined by the Australian government, others may have lower prices. 

The time-of-use plans allow you to see the fixed daily supply charge and the rates at peak and other times.You don’t get a cooling-off period in the standing offer plans to change your mind at no cost after you sign up. All the plans available are straightforward and don’t include any discounts that may be confusing.

Next Business Energy charges an additional fee if you pay by Visa or Mastercard. This encourages you to set up a direct debit from your bank account to pay your bills. 

If you’re considering switching to Next Business Energy, you may want to compare their prices with what you currently pay. You can upload a copy of your electricity bill and a representative will call you to discuss your options. What is the NextConnect portal?

As a customer of Next Business Energy, you get access to the NextConnect portal that gives on-demand, 24/7 insights into your account. This personal energy management dashboard works on a desktop, tablet or mobile. It can help you optimise your energy consumption and costs.

With NextConnect, you can:

  • Get a clear picture of your daily or weekly energy usage.
  • Set your energy budget and track usage against the budget.
  • Get alerts and notifications if budgets are crossed.
  • Enable bill ‘smoothing’, meaning that you pay the same amount each month, based on an estimate of your total annual bill. This prevents seasonal fluctuations in billing.
  • Specify how you would prefer to be contacted, whether by email, SMS or post.
  • View your energy bills. 

If you use Xero for accounting, you can also get your energy bill delivered automatically into your active Xero account. You can enable this option in NextConnect.

Moving your business premises Next Business Energy

If you’re a Next Business Energy customer and are moving your business premises, you need to fill out this form at least five business days before the planned date of your move. When you vacate your current premises, you need to ensure that the meter is easily accessible for a reading. Next Business Energy will take a final reading and invoice you as such. It’s often a good idea to turn the main fuse for this meter off when you leave. 

If you choose to connect your new site to Next Business Energy, they will waive the disconnection and reconnection fees and can help you with a smooth transfer of your energy account.

Get rewarded for referring a business

As a Next Business Energy customer, you may be eligible for a $50 credit to your account if you refer another business to Next Business Energy and they decide to make the switch. The credit will be applied to your account 90 days after the new business completes the sign-up process.

To be eligible for this referral credit, ask your contact at the business you’re referring to fill out this form and enter your business ABN number as the referrer.
