Shopping for the best credit card rewards
There are so many factors to consider when choosing a credit card but its reward program should not be overlooked. Sure they may seem as valuable as low interest rates, fees and charges but that certainly doesn’t’ mean they don’t warrant a mention. After all, every good customer should be rewarded.
For the most part credit card reward points accumulate in your account with you even noticing. However, ever so often a nice surprise occurs and your reward points are flagged with you and you realise they convert into actual money, travel or material goods.
Rewards Programs are sometimes the best reasons for credit card holders to fork the premium fees and rates. When you’re using your card for every bill and every meal, it’s nice to get something back.
Many rewards programs offer a points system for you to redeem a range of goods and services, such as Entertainment, Retail, Dining and Travel benefits.
The popular Frequent Flyer Points program lets you redeem points for airfare discounts, with some cards rewarding up to 2 points for every dollar spent. Another great option is cashback, which directly goes to help you reduce your debt.
If you’re searching cards for their rewards programs, do some quick calculations to see if the spending points you get every year are enough to balance the higher fees.
