About Coastline Credit Union credit cards

Coastline Credit Union has a limited range of credit cards:

  • Rewards credit card (earns Rewarder points)
  • Balance transfer credit card
  • Visa credit card

The rewards credit card offered by Coastline Credit Union has a moderate annual fee, however this is waved if a customer does a minimum spend on the card each year. The interest rate on the purchases made using the rewards credit card is moderately high.

Features of the Coastline rewards credit card include the ability to have an introductory 0 per cent balance transfer rate, although after a set amount of time this reverts to a moderately high interest rate.

The minimum credit limit of the Coastline Credit Union rewards Visa is low, but ultimately the credit limit will be decided on a case by case basis, with a customer’s financial situation taken into consideration. The number of interest-free days on purchase is moderate.

Coastline Credit Union credit card review

Coastline Credit Union doesn’t try to compete with big lender that offer a huge selection of credit cards. Instead, it focuses on offering a basic rewards Visa credit card that gives customers cashback using the “rewarder” program.

Unlike other cashback rewards offered by many financial institutions, Coastline Credit Union rewards are earnt on the credit card but loaded onto a separate “rewarder” card.

This “rewarder” card basically turns into a EFTPOS card that Coastline Credit Union members can use to buy goods and services at any shop that accepts EFTPOS. It’s important to note that there is a monthly cap on how many points can be earned.

The interest rate on the Coastline Credit Union Visa credit card is moderately high, so it would best suit a customer who knows they usually pay off their credit card bill at the end of the month.
