Car insurance for an imported vehicle can reach cost thousands. Import car insurance can be super expensive as these vehicles are generally modified or not manufactured in Australia and therefore aren't like the standard vehicles available. Insurers see imported cars as a greater risk on Australian roads which explains their sky-high insurance premiums.
