How to redeem Woolworths’ Everyday Rewards points

Woolworths rewards, or Everyday Rewards, is the loyalty program of  Woolworths Group Limited, a major Australian retail company. As a part of this program, customers earn points when they shop online or in-store at Woolworths supermarkets, Big W, BWS, and participating Caltex Woolworths fuel outlets.

The program includes a few other select partners as well. Moreover, the Everyday Rewards program also has collaborations with several insurance and credit card businesses. This allows participants to collect Woolworths bonus points.

Once the points have been added to their tally, users can choose to either redeem these points for money at Woolworths outlets or save them up for big shops, such as during Christmas. It’s likely that you spend hundreds of dollars on Christmas shopping every year. Woolworth’s Bank for Christmas feature allows you to accumulate points on your everyday spending throughout the year and redeem them for Christmas shopping towards the end of the year.

To use your points, you’ll need to unlock them as per the schedule shared in the program. You could think of it as a savings account for your Christmas spend where you automatically save points (earned from your purchases) for your end-of-year shopping.

You also have the choice of converting your Everyday Rewards points to Qantas points. You can use the Woolworths rewards website or app to switch preferences.

If you shop regularly at Woolworths, some of these redemption options for your Everyday Rewards points may provide you with good value for your money. Compare all the available options and pick one that provides you with the highest benefit. For example, if you struggle with saving money for your Christmans shopping, the Bank for Christmas may be a good option for you.

How can you join the Woolworths rewards program?

The process is quite straightforward. You can sign up for the program either in-store at a Woolworths outlet or a partner retailer or online. Admission to the program is free of cost.

When you apply at a participating store, you are given a temporary membership card that you can scan to add points to your tally. Further, to complete the activation of your account, you’ll need to visit the Everyday Rewards website and carry out the following steps:

  • Enter your name, contact number, email address, and date of birth. Set a password for the website too.
  • Specify a mailing address for your Woolworths Everyday Rewards card.
  • Check your details and correct any inconsistencies. Afterwards, click on “Join Everyday Rewards” to complete the process.

This program is open to all Australians. The Everyday Rewards program has recently expanded to include Tasmanian residents as well as mainland residents.

How do Woolworths rewards work?

  1. Step 1: Create your account for free at a Woolworths outlet or the Everyday Rewards website.
  2. Step 2: Earn a minimum of one point for every dollar you spend when you shop at Woolworths or any participating partner outlet.
  3. Step 3: Once you have enough points in your kitty, you can choose to redeem them.

There are three ways you can go about this:

  • Redeem the points for cash at a Woolworths store,
  • Save the points for Christmas or
  • Convert them into Qantas points

What is the Woolworths Qantas Platinum credit card?

The Woolworths Qantas Platinum credit card provides holders with the chance to collect Qantas points on their regular shopping, on top of an additional range of Platinum extras.

The Platinum credit card provides users with many benefits. These include free domestic and international travel insurance, rental car excess insurance, purchase protection insurance, and more.

How much are Woolworths points worth?

A total of 2000 Woolworths points makes you eligible for a discount of $10 when you next shop at your nearest participating store or outlet. This pegs the value of each Woolworths point at 0.5 cents. However, that’s not all there is to these points.

As discussed earlier, you can transfer Woolworths points to Qantas rewards as well. In this scheme, 2000 Woolworths points translate to 1000 Qantas or Woolworths frequent flyer points. The dollar values of these points vary based on the flights you spend them on.

Which purchases are not eligible for Woolworths rewards points?

Purchases that do not secure Woolworths rewards points value are smoking products, mobile recharge, travel card and tickets, gift cards, internet cafes, Woolworths mobile, delivery charges, lottery products, carpet care, Woolworths flowers, as well as purchases made on the Caltex Star card.
