Established in 1999, Super Directions Personal Super Plan was designed for individuals wanting to contribute directly to a superannuation fund; however, has been closed to new members since 2010.The investment menu of Super Directions Personal Super offers a range of 13 Single Sector and Diversified investment strategies, as well as a Single Manager option. Members can choose to invest in a maximum of six portfolios. The Multi-Manager Balanced option underperformed the SuperRatings Index over each time period assessed to 30 June 2018.Fees associated with this product are higher than the industry average across all account balances assessed. However, the asset administration fee reduces on a sliding scale, which benefits members with larger account balances. Furthermore, the member fee is waived for account balances over $15,000. A switching fee; however, is charged at 2% of the amount switched from the seventh switches each financial year. Members may agree with their financial adviser for a fee to be paid for personal advice.Super Directions Personal Super Plan provides members with access to a full suite of insurance cover. Members can apply for up to $5 million of Death only cover and $2 million of Death & TPD cover. Income Protection insurance is offered over a 2 year benefit payment period, covering 75% of a member's salary up to $20,000 per month, with a waiting period of 4, 8 or 13 weeks. AMP's website contains a variety of financial simulators and retirement calculators, as well as a Goals info centre, which provides members with a wealth of educational materials, tools and online learning. Members can also manage their superannuation on desktops or mobile devices via MyPortfolio. Access to financial advice is also provided to members.
