Make the most of the summer rays with January’s top personal loans

Whether you’re eager to squeeze in a well-deserved holiday while the days are still long or keen to get the ball rolling on your home’s solar power journey, the warmer weather could be just the reminder.

According to the Australian Government’s Australia’s making positive energy campaign, more than one in four Aussie homes are already using rooftop solar – which is the highest uptake in the world.

The campaign also revealed that solar contributed to almost 10 per cent of Australia’s electricity generation in 2020 and is projected to contribute 27 per cent by 2030.

The government estimates that by 2050 more than half of Australian homes could have solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, and that increasing our use of solar will be critical in helping Australia achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

Since solar power is produced when energy from the sun is converted into electricity, it makes sense that the sunnier months may feel like a gentle nudge to consider the benefits of installing rooftop solar. Not only could it allow you to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, but it could potentially save you money on electricity bills in the long term.

If you’re looking to finance your rooftop solar installation, you could save on interest charges with a green personal loan. This type of specialised personal loan product is typically offered by lenders at a lower interest rate than standard personal loans to incentivise borrowers to make environmentally responsible purchases.

But if it’s a standard personal loan that you’re after – say, to book that relaxing summer break – RateCity’s database has a wide range of competitive products available to suit a variety of needs.

RateCity has put together some of the top-rated personal loans for January 2022 to help get you started on your comparison.
